Becoming an RRC Tutor

Are you an experienced Health and Safety or Environmental trainer or interested in becoming one? RRC International are looking to expand our pool of freelance tutors to help us deliver accredited courses and bespoke corporate training.

About the Role

As a freelance tutor you will use our highly effective trainer packs, customising the lesson plans and materials as needed to deliver engaging training experiences to our customers that meet their needs, awarding body requirements and RRC quality standards.  

We deliver classroom and live online virtual courses, with the latter forming the bulk of our course delivery to public and corporate customers.

Experience delivering training via Webex, GoToTraining, MS Teams or Zoom would be highly desirable, though training will be provided if you haven’t used those but have good computer literacy. You will also receive guidance and support from our development team and our subject matter experts.

Experience and Qualifications

Experience / Skill / Qualification Essential Desirable
Appropriate Health and Safety or Environmental qualification at level 3 or 6, preferably the NEBOSH/IOSH qualification you are looking to deliver or equivalent recognised qualification. X  
5+ years of industry experience as a Health and Safety manager, Environmental manager or consultant, or 10+ years as a Health and Safety Practitioner

Chartered member of a Health and Safety or Environmental professional body, or membership level that reflects your qualifications.

Active in keeping up to date with best practice, legislative and regulatory requirements in your field

X

 
Experience of delivering training to mixed ability groups either at work or in public and corporate settings

Experience of delivering NEBOSH, IOSH or IEMA courses

 

X
Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics in an engaging and accessible way

X

 
Experience delivering training online using virtual meeting tools such as Webex, GoToTraining, MS Teams or Zoom

 

X
Experience of customising lesson plans, presentations and activities to suit the audience and achieve learning and assessment outcomes

 

X
Ability to devise/adapt activities to make the most of the setting e.g. classroom or virtual meeting

 

X
Up-to-date with awarding body course specifications and assessments or a willingness to spend time doing this

 

X

Good computer literacy and a willingness to learn new tools/software

Language skills are an added bonus. We are currently offering courses in English, Arabic, French, Georgian, Russian and Spanish with plans to expand to other languages

What to Expect from RRC

As an RRC Associate Tutor, you will receive support and guidance from our team and experienced RRC tutors when you work with us.

Alongside teaching, there are also opportunities for creating training resources and activities for qualification courses and corporate training. Some examples of resource and activities development are:

  • Writing and producing new materials that cover requisite knowledge requirements and can be applied practically to meet professional standards and workplace needs
  • Reviewing existing RRC materials to ensure it is up to date in terms of current industry practice and standards as well as in terms of laws and regulations
  • Source and write effective commentary for case studies regarding contemporary health, safety and environmental issues
  • Writing concise summaries of complex topics
  • Writing mini-guides, tips and other short-form material for use in the workplace
  • Producing job aids and checklists that can be used by other practitioners
  • Collaborating with designers in the production of visual aids, animations and videos for learners
  • Writing activities, scenarios and questions to help learners develop knowledge and skills
