    The IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management is made up of three Modules:

    Module 1: Fundamentals of sustainability, business and governance

    • Implications of global trends for the environment, society, the economy and for organisations and the role of an environment/sustainability professional in overcoming these challenges

    Module 2: Environmental principles, policy and legislation

    • Environmental principles

    Module 3: Environmental management/assessment tools and skills

    • Major tools, techniques, systems and practices to develop sustainable products and services and improve sustainability performance
    • The role of innovation in developing sustainable products, services and solutions
    • Data collection, critical analysis and information reporting to inform decision making
    • Problem identification and opportunity assessment for delivery of innovative and sustainable products and services

    The IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management is assessed by:

    • Assignments for each module – these are set by IEMA but marked by RRC
    • An assessment of competence – this is a practical application and is submitted to IEMA for marking. It can only be submitted after all the other modules have been successfully completed.
    The course is assessed by 3 assignments marked by RRC.

  • Entry Requirements
    While there are no specific entry requirements for the course,  some prior knowledge of environmental issues is recommended. This can be gained through completing qualifications like the IEMA Foundation Certificate.
  • FAQs
    How long does it take to complete the course?
    The classroom course takes 15 days to complete, and Online around 120 hours to complete.
    Can I try the online course before I enrol?

    What is the difference between online, elearning and distance learning?

    Online & elearning are just different words for the same thing. Distance Learning, means learning at a distance but is commonly used to describe the more traditional paper based study, RRC do provide the complete study text which you can download and study off line thus giving you the option of how you study the course

    What happens if I fail my assessment?
    The assessments can be re-sat if they are not passed.
    Resubmission fees will apply if you are not successful but you will receive detailed feedback and are allowed to resubmit on the same questions once.
    Once completed, am I eligible for Practitioner Membership to IEMA (PIEMA)?

    Upon completion, you can upgrade to IEMA Practitioner membership (PIEMA) and Registered Environmental Practitioner (REnvP) by completing an Assessment of Competence directly with IEMA.

    Do I have to pay VAT if I am based outside the UK?

    Only companies outside of the UK who can provide a valid VAT number will be exempt from VAT. All individuals irrespective of their location will have to pay VAT.

    Am I eligible for TOTUM Pro membership?

This publication provides a detailed guide to UK environmental legislation and case law, and is ideal for those who are studying NEBOSH or IEMA courses, or working towards other high-level environmental qualifications. It is also a useful reference tool for health, safety and environmental practitioners, or those with responsibilities for environmental management at work.

The book provides important excerpts and simplified summaries of more than 80 pieces of key legislation, as well as a range of case law information.

Environmental

A guide to some key environmental issues and terms, RRC's Environmental Step Notes include a glossary providing definitions of technical terms, as well as a general guide to statutes and regulations that moderate environmental problems, such as air, water and land pollution.
