On completion of the NEBOSH HSE Certificate in Manual Handling Risk Assessment qualification learners will be able to:
- Explain the importance of reducing risk associated with manual handling activities
- Explain what manual handling risks are and how they may result in injury
- Understand legal obligations under the Manual Handling Regulations (UK only)
- Apply wider elements of risk assessment for manual handling

- Principles of Manual Handling - Why manual handling should be avoided, the moral, business and legal reasons for assessing and managing it, and common types of injuries that arise
- Managing Manual Handling Risk: Identification of Manual Handling Risk - Understand risk factors associated with manual handling, the applications of HSE's manual handling assessment tools (MAC and RAPP) and what makes a risk assessment suitable and sufficient
- Managing Manual Handling Risk: Control of Risk - How to avoid manual handling risks with the use of mechanical assistance and recognition of good handling techniques

Entry Requirements
There are no entry requirements for this qualification.
It is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus. NEBOSH recommends that learners undertaking this qualification should reach a minimum standard of English equivalent to an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 5.0 or higher in IELTS tests.

Assessment Details
The course is assessed by practical assessment, completed at the end of the course. Learners are to complete a manual handling risk assessment case study which identifies a range of hazards and meets best practice standards.
The assessment can be completed online, there is no need to attend an exam centre. -

What is the difference between Online, Live Online, e-Learning and Distance Learning?Live Online is delivered in real time through Zoom and is very similar to a classroom course. The tutor will deliver the course with breaks to allow time for group work, exercises, and private study.
Online & elearning are just different words for the same thing, and mean a flexible, self study course delivery with tutor support that can be accessed via email. Distance Learning, means learning at a distance but is commonly used to describe the more traditional paper based study, RRC do provide the complete study text which you can download and study off line thus giving you the option of how you study the course.
Do I have to pay VAT if I am based outside the UK?Only companies outside of the UK who can provide a valid VAT number will be exempt from VAT. All individuals irrespective of their location will have to pay VAT.
