NEBOSH Diplomas are globally recognised qualifications for professional Health & Safety advisors and Environmental practitioners. These are high level qualifications, assessed at an equivalent level to the final year of a Bachelor Degree (European Qualifications Framework Level 6).
All NEBOSH Diploma courses are challenging, requiring a significant investment in time to master the level and depth of knowledge required to be successful. But the payoff is also great with international recognition and enhanced career prospects for NEBOSH Diploma holders.

NEBOSH national courses include specific reference to UK legislation in relation to the given topic. As UK H&S legislation is recognised as the global gold-standard, we recommend anyone who wants to, or might want to, work in the UK complete the national course. It will still be recognised and respected in other countries.
If you have no intention of working in the UK, we would recommend completing the international course. Instead of covering UK specific law, the international courses use ILO standard best practice.
The NEBOSH Health & Safety Diplomas are university-level qualifications and assume knowledge of safety. While there is no requirement, we highly recommend you complete the NEBOSH General Certificate first.
The NEBOSH Environmental Diplomas are university-level qualifications and assume knowledge of environmental management and sustainability. While there is no requirement, we recommend you complete the NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate first.
The main differences between the NEBOSH Diploma and ProQual NVQ Diploma are the how you complete the qualification and the mode of assessment. The NEBOSH Diploma is a taught course following a syllabus and is assessed through 3 assignments. The ProQual NVQ has no taught element, but is instead completed by submitting a portfolio of evidence covering the requirements for each unit gathered from your workplace.
More information on the differences can be found in this article.
